READ, INTERVIEW, REVIEW – Ready to Rumble with @HunterFaith ‘s Jane Yellowrock?

Let us mosey on back to March of 2013 when we gathered round to take in the brilliance of Faith Hunter and her Jane Yellowrock series (INTERVIEW). Faith is the creator behind three series, her most recognized being Jane Yellowrock, followed by her initial series, the Rogue Mage, and her latest endeavor, the Soulwood series.

I uncovered Faith when I fell into SKINWALKER’s trap and suddenly found I couldn’t escape Jane Yellowrock’s world.

There are currently 10 books in the series (the first six are listed above), with COLD REIGN, the 11th installment set to release May 2, 2017.

Why do I find myself going back to Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series? Well, first and foremost, it is a dark urban fantasy. Our leading heroine, Jane, is a full blooded Cherokee skinwalker and hunter of rogue-vampires in a world of weres, witches, vampires, and other supernats. This woman can kick ass while holding your beer so you can join in the fun (which, I’m thrilled to share, CE Murphy’s Joanne Walker has done!). Not only does her world-building suck you in, readers won’t get bored with Jane’s character development, not an easy task when a series runs through this many books.

I’ll be honest, I have not read her Rogue Mage novels—BLOODRING, SERAPHS, HOST, and the RPG Rogue Mage. But I do know they feature Thorn St. Croix, a stone mage in a post-apocalyptic alternate reality, and yes, they are on my never-ending To Be Read list.

Now Faith’s Soulwood series came out in August of 2016 and is a new dark-urban fantasy / paranormal police procedural /thriller series featuring Nell Nicholson Ingram. I have a feeling I’ll be adding this series as well…

So yes, I’m still reading Faith, and here’s hoping I’ve given you another author to stalk!

If you’ve read either the Rogue Mage or Soulwood series, share your thoughts, I’d love hear about them!
